Privacy Policy

Lendook ("we", "us") runs a waitlist for a planned book-lending service in Vancouver. This policy explains what we collect and your choices.
1. What we collect and why
When you join the waitlist, we collect your email address, which side you're interested in (lending, borrowing, or both), and an approximate location (city and country derived from your IP address) — to contact you about launch and to understand where demand is.
As you browse, the analytics and advertising tools below collect usage data — pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser, how you arrived, and on-page behaviour — using cookies and similar technologies, to measure and improve the site and our ads.
2. Cookies and third-party tools
These tools set cookies and share data with their providers, who process it under their own privacy policies:
- Google Analytics (GA4), including Google's advertising features — website usage measurement. Learn how Google uses this data at google.com/policies/privacy/partners. Opt out via Google Ads Settings or the Analytics opt-out add-on.
- Meta Pixel — measures and targets our Facebook and Instagram ads, sharing data (such as your IP address, pages viewed, and waitlist sign-ups) with Meta Platforms, Inc. See Meta's Privacy Policy and your Meta ad preferences.
- Microsoft Clarity — anonymized session recordings and heatmaps (clicks, scrolls, mouse movement) to see how the site is used; data is shared with Microsoft. Keystrokes and sensitive content in forms are masked. See the Microsoft Privacy Statement.
You can also refuse or delete cookies in your browser settings.
3. Consent
By joining the waitlist and using this site, you consent to this policy. You can withdraw consent at any time by emailing us or using the opt-outs above.
4. Who we share it with
We share data only with the providers that run the site and the tools above: hosting (Cloudflare), waitlist delivery (Discord), and analytics/advertising (Google, Meta, Microsoft). Some are based in the United States, so your data may be processed there. We do not sell your personal information.
5. Your rights and contact
Under B.C.'s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) you can ask us to access or correct your information, or to remove you from the waitlist. Contact our Privacy Officer at [email protected]. If you're not satisfied, you may contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia (OIPC BC).
